Good Ideas for Irritating Problems

Clinical Pearls For Better Health
Something is bothering you. Maybe it's a headache. The pain you feel here and there. You know it's not your imagination, even if your doctor has told you there's nothing wrong with you. You don't want to become dependent on painkillers but you need to address that pain now. Clinical Pearls for Better Health: Good Ideas for Irritating Problems (now available through 1stBooks Library) by Donald McDowall may be just the book for you.

In Clinical Pearls, McDowall brings 28 years of experience as chiropractor and years of research to respond to health problems that are not so serious but are still irritating. He also offers tips on subjects ranging from dieting to exercise. For instance, Clinical Pearls shows how a little bicarb soda in a glass of water before heavy exercise helps one avoid back or leg stain. McDowall explains that the solution prevents lactic acid build-up and muscle fatigue. Here's a way to control food intake and make that diet work: a banana 15 minutes before every meal helps suppress appetite. And there's a simple way to stimulate appetite when tired: a teaspoon of lemon juice to a little water five minutes before eating.
McDowall realised the need to publish Clinical Pearls after his patients asked him many questions that were not directly related to spinal adjustments but could affect their overall recovery anyway. He then did his research, picking some ideas from colleagues and friends. Before he knew it, he had compiled a database of 9,000 abstracts. Ultimately, McDowall hopes Clinical Peals will help readers gain more control over their health and bodies, and be happier.

McDowall practices chiropractic in Canberra and is the diplomat of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the International Board of Applied Kinesiology since 1978. He has published three books: A Clinical Approach to Health through Food Programming (1976), Psychic Surgery - the Philippines Experience (1993) and Healing - Doorway to the Spiritual World (1998). He has an award-winning website on chiropractic healing, www.chiroclinic.com.au. Donald and his wife, Annie, have nine children.
4 Things You Must Do If You Want To Have Better Health
by Donald McDowall

Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Are you noticing more aches and pains that don't go away when you rest? Then you may be missing knowledge and habits that give you better health.

1. learn to accept decisions other people make for themselves

Taking responsibility for other peoples problems makes you tired and can make you sick. Fatigue is the first sign of all disease. Let other people make their own mistakes or they will never learn how to care for themselves otherwise these people can become energy vampires.

2. Become less sensitive to allergens

Irritants or allergens create prolonged inflammatory responses such as allergies, hives, excema and can even affect your weight. Make a list of all the foods you eat over a week and anything you eat more than three times in the week remove for a week and reintroduce it a little at a time every fourth day. You wrist pulse will increase within a few minutes if the food is an irritant.

3. Breathe easier

Oxygen is essential for energy and strength. Shallow or difficult breathing and headaches may be caused by iron deficiency. Oxygen is carried by the iron molecules in your body. Eating plenty of green vegetables and liver will speed up iron absorbtion. An ozone machine next to you when sleeping can also help. Pine trees are a good source of ozone.

4. Reduce Brain fatigue

One hour of exposure to TV, computer screens, video games and other VDU devices can create glare, strain and cause the brain to secrete as much seratonin as a hit of cocaine or a big bar of chocolate. Using foods such as natural fats (monounsaturated) and protiens like cheese and avocado while working in this environment often reduces brain fatigue.

Take responsibility for your own health. Don't give it to others. Use the resources available to you in my book "Clinical Pearls for Better Health". Don't allow other people to take your energy unless you are well and want to give it.

Dr. Donald McDowall, DC., DNBCE, DIBAK. Donald studied Chiropractic at the Palmer College, Iowa, USA. He has worked in private practice since 1974. He has studied with famous Nutritionist and Iridologist Bernard Jensen, DC., ND. His post graduate studies included working with the founder of Applied Kinesiology Dr. George Goodheart, DC. Dr. Goodheart said: "My trust in Dr McDowall and his observations comes from a long and mutually rewarding friendship of many years. The third aphorism on page 135 of his book "Clinical Pearls for Better Health" is especially appropriate: "Wait in the morning for inspiration, at noon for guidance and in the evening for a full understanding of the road you have travelled." We highly recommend this book:
